Hi there!

I’m Pete Swift. Thanks for visiting my golf site.

I’m a tiler by trade but I love my golf and I’ve spent a small fortune on lessons and books and about 24,867 hours (if you know what I mean) on trying to improve my game. Both golf and tiling are very physical activities, so in the evenings to balance it out, when the brain is still active but the body has shut down for the day, I go looking for info on golf on the internet and I work on my website.

You’ll see golf articles on the main site at http://www.golfable.info, with some golf tips, golf history, a little trivia and some vacation spots and here on the blog, you’ll find free video golfing tips.

Golf dvd reviews

I discovered I enjoyed writing sometimes, and I wanted to share some of the great resources I’d found and publish some golf reviews I wrote. I found that golf videos helped me improve my game more than anything else I bought, especially those wonderful instructional golf dvds from Bobby Eldridge. I liked them so much I bought the whole set.

It started when I found a range of sample PurePoint dvds on You Tube, (which I posted here). I loved them but I got frustrated at the time it took to watch them as I had a slow connection. I hope it’s watchable on your computer, many of the You Tube videos don’t play so well online, that’s why it’s good to own your own dvds on disk, none of that stuttering and waiting around. They still annoy me a bit,  but I still keep looking for more, there’s some real gems here.

I got fantastic mileage from the ebook The Simple Golf Swing. There’s a few other golf tutorial books I thought were pretty good as well for different reasons. Some are physical books and some are digital books.

My wife, Shelly, has started playing golf now. I guess she figured if you can’t beat them – join them! It’s been really good for us actually, we’ve started going to the beach together to practice. She got real mad at me once when I was practising in the back yard and she also didn’t like me to spend so much time at the driving range either.

So we clip the leash on old Sally the golden lab, and head off for a few hours on most Summer evenings until twilight, practice a bit of swinging and driving on the sand and then sit and watch the sunset and the ocean. I lose a few old golfballs but what the heck. On the weekends we go play a game or get some more practice in at the driving range. She’s getting pretty good at golf (but don’t tell her I said so!) so I have to keep working on my own game to stay ahead.
