Golf Pro Lesson Get Snap in your Swing

http//:www.shawnclementgolf.com Shawn Clement, Director of the Richmond Hill Golf Learning Centre and top 25 CPGA Golf Teacher as rated by Golf Tips Magazine, shows you how to use a Lunge Whip to create the feel you need in your swing to anchor the deployment of the arms to your target;

    @dinkipooxa i dont think so. If someone with a 140mph clubhead speed with a flex shaft tried to hit a ball he’d find it to be a bit difficult. There would be entirely too much bend or whip in the club resulting in loss of distance and consistency. I would think there’s a good reason “high-speed” golfers such as Bubba watson or the Long Drive guys use stiff shafts. “Whipping” the club is a great train of thought to help ppl increase clubhead speed.

  2. dinkipooxa Said,

    @remmy100 It has been observed, under correct scientific analysis of the highest integrity, that the whippiness – or stiffness, of the golf club shaft has no bearing whatever in the golf shot. There are 3 separate reasons, each on conclusive in its own right, that this is so. Any bend induced in the shaft would never be in line with the shot, for one; no-one is strong enough to allow such a contributory vibration to take place; lastly the ball is never in contact with the head for long enough !

  3. remmy100 Said,

    @dinkipooxa @92mustangmug Well I would certainly like to view this “correct scientific analysis”. Would you happen to know where I can find it?

  4. remmy100 Said,

    @dinkipooxa To be honest, I didn’t read it. I know from personal experience that, when using a flex shaft, the shaft bends on downswing. Depending on my release, the ball will either shoot to low or pop up in air. If my release is delayed, my hands are well in front of ball at impact resulting in a very low flight. Vice versa, if my release is early the shaft will whip through impact and I’ll either chunk it or pop it up. Since Ive moved to a stiff shaft 9.5 loft driver, my driving has improved.

  5. dinkipooxa Said,

    The idea of basing your golf swing on the whip of a fishing rod is a very dangerous one; since the shaft of the golf club does NOT act in that manner in any way, shape or form; ie the shaft, either whippy or stiff does NOT have any effect on the trajectory of the ball – speed of club head is ALL that contributes to the shot.

    There’s an awful lot of misleading advice about the golf swing around; ready to SEDUCE you with fancy sounding “science” – most, if not all of it, is absolute nonsense.
