Taylormade 2.0 Compare Mizuno JPX800 Pro | Response
Posted under Pro Golfers by Petewww.4golfonline.com Mark Crossfield hit the Taylormade burner 2.0 and compares it to the Mizuno JPX800 Pro. Watch and see how the two irons compare when Mark hits them out of the middle and from the toe. This is a video response to one of Marks video comments, for free golf instruction and golf tips watch Mark’s video vlogs.

@mousepad99 Marginally, but they are both cavity backs. I play mp-52-still a cavity back, but more of a players (maltby classes with traditional blades!). Of course they bothg wanna sell clubs and make money-but Mizuno clubs appeal more on style, quality, feel, playability. taylormade sells more on gain 10 yards. TM off the shelf is more at recreational playerss. Im not bashing the brand-they make nice woods and I love the Penta ball. Just think Mizuno are better irons for good players
@cockywatchman1976 You’re kidding yourself if you think Mizuno JPX800 is more of a player club than the 2.0. Also, Mizuno is a company with the same goal than Taylormade, make good clubs in order to make money. “Brand bashers” are as worst as “brand whores”.
@theRnBfien You don’t understand if you think that. Whats the point in saying a 6 iron from one make is longer than another make if it has a completely different loft-of course it will be. If I bent my mizuno 6 iron to a 2 iron loft I recon I could bash it further. POINTLESS. I bet the TM club has a longer shaft too!!!!!! Mizuno is for players, TM mass produced clubs for hackers who lack distance (or top paid pros haha)
@MrCbgswan But are they both 6s with the same loft-I doubt it. TM clubs have stronger lofts, so a TM 5 iron is more like a mizuno 6 iron. I wouldnt even be surprised if they sneeked half an inch extra on the shaft. It makes the test irrelevant.
You know what I’d like to see, is someone like this guy to compare clubs like Pinemeadow or Gigagolf, that make these clone clubs to see how they compare to the name-brand ones.
Would just be interesting. Not saying they’d be as good, better or worse, but they probably wouldn’t since this is the stuff they sell.
@cockywatchman1976 THey are both 6’s mate…
He’s doing a comparison of 6 irons they did’t ask to do a comparison of a 6 iron and a 5iron so if you like the distance of 1 6 iron to another has nothing to do with the loft or shaft length. So what your saying is the burner 2.0 PW isn’t a PW it’s a 9iron come on this dude is the best on the internet…Keep comparing them clubs Mark love it…
Silly non scientific comparison-as always TM clubs have stronger lofts and probably longer shafts. You’re comparing a 6 iron with a 5 iron. No point
The problem with this comparison is that the 2.0 6 iron in longer than and has less loft than the JPX 5 iron let alone the JPX 6 iron. Higher ball speed and distance for the 2.0 “6″ iron assured.
I understand this comparison being based on reader request, though the 2.0s(cast) vs. the 800-Pros(forged) is not an apples to apples comparison. I think the golfer that would look @ the 2.0s(distance, distance, distance, maybe forgiveness) would be more apt to look @ the regular 800s(cast) than the 800-Pros. The 800s are a much better comparison from a design & spec standpoint…Greens & Fairways 4ever……………….
How do you translate ball speed to distance.Example :I don’t know what iron your hitting in this comparison but if you say get an average difference in ball speed of 5 miles and hour what is the correlation in distance with that difference in ball speed?
Thanks
Which is most consistant between the Burner 2.0 and the JPX 800 irons. Are the burner 2.0’s as straight as the JPX 800’s. I am about a 10 handicap and am getting ready to buy one of these sets of irons. Which Iron do you think is the straightist? Please anybody please reply to my comment.
-Thanks
So you compared a JPX-800 Pro 6i and a TM Burner 2.0 6i? Major flaws in the test because TM 6i is really a JPX 5i.
JPX Loft = 29 Length = 37.25
TM Loft = 27 Length = 37.625
Of course the TM is going to have a higher speed, doesn’t have much to do with the technology the TM is just Mizuno’s 5i
Mark, I love all of the vids. Cant wait to see a review of the new Taylormade TP irons whenever you get your hands on them. It’d be interesting to see the differences between the mc’s and cb’s.
Hey Mark,
i know this is the JPX800 Pro. I was wondering if you could do the same comparison between the JPX (not pro) and the Burner 2.0 Thanks!
Mark, we have heard stories where golfers are hitting these distance designed irons ( 2.0 & JPX800) 20 yards further throughout the bag. Do you have any advice as to how one can deal with large distance gaps between the 2.0 GW and the next sandwedge that one carries? your thoughts please!
